2020 - 2021 as everyone knows was a very strange year and many of our usual sporting events could not take place.

We did, however, hold some in-school events.

Summer term 2019 news

We have a busy term ahead of us!

As well as our regular PE and swimming lessons we are delighted to offer the children additional activities. For example, children in year 1 are currently enjoying a term of golf, delivered by the Jonathan Draycott Golf Academy. Children in years 3 and 4 are taking part in All Stars Cricket, learning the basics of the game along with skills such as throwing and batting in a fun environment.

We recently commissioned an orienteering map of the school grounds (paid for by the PE premium) and have tested one of the courses with the year 1 and 2 children. Later in the summer term we'll roll this out to KS2 children with a slightly more challenging course! As well as being a fun sport, orienteering is a great way to practice map skills.
Our sports day takes place in July and the children are already practicing their athletic skills in readiness. We continue to enjoy participating, and being successful, in local sporting tournaments. We have performed well in the Vale of White Horse football league in both the girls and boys teams and have taken part in partnership events for football and netball.  Our mixed netball team is through to the finals of the Garrick League. Every June we enter the Didcot and District swimming gala, and in previous years we have won the village school's shield; hopefully we will repeat this success! Lastly we are also sending a mixed team to play tag rugby at Oxford University grounds.
