Illness absence

If your child is absent from school due to illness please contact the school office as early as possible to advise.

We operate a 48 hour exclusion policy for children with sickness or diarrhoea; your child should only return to school 48 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea. This helps us stop the spread of illness in school. Please ensure your child always washes their hands after using the toilet and before eating.

Covid-19

There are no longer any specific rules relating to Covid-19 in schools. However, for children who test positive for COVID-19, the advice is to try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for three days. This is because children and young people tend to be infectious to other people for less time than adults.

Adults with a positive COVID-19 test result are advised to try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for five days, which is when they are most infectious.

Administering medicine in school

Please speak to the school office if prescribed medicine is required to be administered during school hours. Further details are available in the 'Administering medicines at school' policy.
