French
At Chilton Primary School, all our children from Year 3 onwards will progressively acquire, use and apply a growing bank of vocabulary, language skills and grammar knowledge of the French language. The learning is organised around age-appropriate topics and themes - building blocks of language into more complex, fluent and authentic language skills. They will develop their progressive knowledge across five main strands - listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar. Alongside this the children will gain a deeper understanding of the French culture as well as knowledge about some important French people and places.
