Design & Technology
The Design and Technology curriculum at Chilton will inspire, motivate and present a range of opportunities for students to develop their creative, practical and technical skills. The children at Chilton will be able to design and make prototypes and products that solve real life problems within a variety of contexts, considering both their own and others’ needs, wants and values. They will be able to draw on a broad range of skills and knowledge from other areas of the curriculum in order to design, make and evaluate a product.
At Chilton design and technology will prepare our children and give them the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences they need to be successful in later life. Through our inspiring curriculum, the children will learn about famous engineers, designers, chefs and architects and how their inventions shaped the world that we live in today. The children will be able to reflect upon and evaluate past and present design technology, its uses and its effectiveness. They will be innovators and risk-takers and aspire and strive to become designers and makers of products to make a difference in our future world.
