School lunches
Our school meals are freshly cooked every day by Edwards & Ward and meet the School Food Standards set by the Department for Education. The School Food Standards are designed to encourage children to develop healthy eating habits and to ensure they get the energy and nutrition they need throughout the school day.
All children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are entitled to a universal free school meal. For children in Key Stage 2 the cost of a school lunch is £2.50 per day. Children with parents in receipt of certain benefits, for example, Universal Credit, may be entitled to free school meals. Pop into the office to discuss this further.

Packed lunches
Whilst we'd encourage all children to enjoy a school lunch, we understand some prefer to bring in packed lunches. These should include a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein to help support children’s concentration, energy levels, and overall well-being throughout the school day. We also ask that items such as crisps, sweets, and chocolate are kept to a minimum, as these are often eaten first, leaving the healthier options untouched. Please see the poster below for suggestions on what to include in lunch boxes.

Morning snack
A fruit or vegetable snack is provided to all children in Early Years or Key Stage 1 as part of the Government’s National Fruit and Vegetable scheme. Key Stage 2 children may bring in a fruit or vegetable snack for break-time.
